Anthropic’s prompt suggestions are simple, but you can’t give an LLM an open-ended question like that and expect the results you want! You, the user, are likely subconsciously picky, and there are always functional requirements that the agent won’t magically apply because it cannot read minds and behaves as a literal genie. My approach to prompting is to write the potentially-very-large individual prompt in its own Markdown file (which can be tracked in git), then tag the agent with that prompt and tell it to implement that Markdown file. This month, OpenAI announced their Codex app and my coworkers were asking questions. So I downloaded it, and as a test case for the GPT-5.2-Codex (high) model, I asked it to reimplement the UMAP algorithm in Rust. UMAP is a dimensionality reduction technique that can take in a high-dimensional matrix of data and simultaneously cluster and visualize data in lower dimensions. However, it is a very computationally-intensive algorithm and the only tool that can do it quickly is NVIDIA’s cuML which requires CUDA dependency hell.
